Who it's for

This course is for anyone taking on a Mental Health First Aider role — HR and people-team staff, line managers, safeguarding leads, health-and-safety professionals, and volunteers nominated as first points of contact for colleagues in psychological distress.

What you'll learn

  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental-health conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, psychosis, and eating disorders
  • Have supportive, non-judgemental conversations with colleagues in distress
  • Follow a structured intervention framework for immediate mental-health response
  • Understand risk of self-harm and suicide, and respond appropriately
  • Signpost to professional help and internal support routes
  • Recognise the boundaries of a Mental Health First Aider role and manage your own wellbeing

Accreditation & certification

Certified by Qualsafe Awards (QA) against the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) at Level 3. Certification is valid for 3 years; annual refresher recommended given the evolving mental-health-support landscape.

Delivered by

Delivered by Comera Medical Training's mental-health-first-aid-qualified instructors, all of whom hold current L3 MHFA instructor certification and enhanced DBS clearance.

Outcomes

On successful completion you'll hold a recognised Level 3 Mental Health First Aid qualification and be equipped to identify, initiate a supportive conversation with, and appropriately signpost colleagues experiencing psychological distress.
